IF YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE WITH A SEARCH OF ANY UK WATERWAYS PLEASE CALL 0800 622 6614
SARbot UK is the UK’s first and only underwater search, rescue and recovery charity. We provide safe underwater rescue solutions.
Using sophisticated Side Scan Sonar specifically developed to identify a human form under water we can quickly locate a victim. We then deploy a robot that has a specially designed grab arm, multi beam sonar, HD camera that records directly to a hard drive for evidential purposes, and high powered lights. The robot recovers the victim to the surface, where if the body is retrieved within 90 minutes there is a good chance they can be revived with no lasting health issues.
The charity has 2 qualified water search dogs, Max and Vitton, also a young Labrador (Taz) who will shortly begin her training. The dogs are capable of identifying human scent on water. To our knowledge there are very few other dogs with this remarkable capability in the UK. At least one of those will be trained to sniff human bone and will be a huge asset to the charity.
We are fortunate to have access to a commercial dive team provided by BJG Solutions in Basildon. We hope to provide training for them to a national forensic search team standard by the end of 2013, adding another valuable tool to our arsenal of incredible equipment.
We can provide a response team that can deploy to anywhere in the UK to help search for missing people believed to have disappeared or fallen in to any inland waterway or out at sea, no matter how big or small the area.
Searches conducted through the Missing People charity are provided free of charge. If we conduct a search for the emergency services then we would normally ask for our expenses to be met. This is for the cost of fuel, maintenance of equipment, accommodation and food for the team for the duration of the search.
We are a public community organisation and rely wholly on public support. If you are able to sponsor this excellent charity or donate items that can be auctioned off to raise money then please contact us using the “Contact Us” page.
